As I am
its never enough
as I am
its never good enough
The world sees me
the way I’m not
I don’t even know
who I am right now
Where’s my happy place?
I can’t find it
It’s not where I last left it
flying to the moon
Even on the moon
I am not right
I don’t fit in
amongst other fakers
Where do I fit?
Someone tell me
I need to feel
feel good in my skin
I dont like me
that scares me
I smile and wave
inside I cry
I just want to be liked
Loved maybe
cuddled and safe
where I belong
I’ll never be there
forever lost
in a place
where I don’t belong
Forced to smile
like everything is fine
inside I cry
yearning for more
if only
if only I were enough
even for just one
i might feel

Art first… So I discovered an artist I really love, his name is Charles Burchfield. Some may know him, but I had no clue who he was. I really dig his stuff! He’s got a unique look of nature. Almost like he is painting the energy of everything. Love it. And even his regular stuff like old houses or winter scenes have something extra to them that makes them stand out. idk, I just really liked it. I hope I get to see one in person someday!
So the sox… my husband bought me a Sox hat :) Am I a sox fan? Not really…but I dont hate them. I am more of an Angels fan (and sometimes a Yankee fan hahaha) but the reason he bought it for me is because Joe McIntyre and the other 4 NKOTB members ARE Sox fans…and he thought that because they are a big part of my life, by defualt I should be a fan of the Sox too LOL
Im not a big baseball fan. its ok. But I kinda wish it was a Celtics hat if anything… Im a bball girl more than baseball…it would have made more sense LOL But…at least he thought about me and bought me a gift,…which NEVER happens… and it was pretty thoughtful I thought…so I rocked it all day today :)
Nothing to report on the block carving… havent had time (nor will I) but I will post more pics when I get something done!

The final outcome :) Well…not 100% final, still needs more details, but I should say the final outline is done! Still working on the inking part…Im having a hard time with the balance, not too much and not too little LOL im getting there ;)
Done on copy paper and speedball water-based ink.

This is just a print out of Carol Lumbar that I hand tinted with colored pencils. Im going to use it for a mixed media project I have in mind. The one on the left I am doing a lino cut of… I cant wait!
I spent a lot of time browsing the net last night getting inspiration, color pallets and I frankly cant wait to start this, so Im going to go do it!

So…last night I started a mixed media canvas. I had no idea where I was going with it, I just knew I wanted to use a practice print I made and some old sheet music I bought at a yard sale. So I get the canvas all prepped with mod podge and all of a sudden I see a hair on it. I spend 5 minuted trying to pick it off, and continue…then there were 5 hairs…then more and more…. my effin brush is losing hairs!!! *angry face*. Yeah, I bought the cheap brushes from hobby lobby. Lesson learned.
Then I add the music to it (picking out hairs as I go…) and a few embellishment letters. I cut out my print how I want, and add MP to the back, and I go to put it on and theres ink on my thumb.
yup. Water soluable ink. *forhead slap* I knew this before I started…didnt occur to me that it would run. I KNEW it would but it didnt hit me until after I started.
So needless to say I have very little done of my collage. On the UP side what I have done I like :) I keep surprising myself at the work of my own hands. I severly underestimated myself art wise. Besides, whos to say my art is good or bad? To whos standards? Its MY creation lol

Should have posted this one first…this is the hand drawn version of the print. Its really rough, I know, but its my first. EVER. Like…EVER lol I have never drawn a person before.
Anyway, as you can see he has two eyes in this one… I like it better with only the one. I think it adds more drama. What do you think?
comments??

This is my frst portrait block print. I hand drew it onto a piece of linoleum and carved it. Then you ink it up (like a stamp) and use it exactly like a stamp :) Its Joey Mcintyre in case you are wondering. I liked the picture.
The original picture I found on the net. I made it black and white and then polerized it to a dark contrast and I just really loved the way it looked so I decided to make a print.
The left is the lino block and the right is a practice pull to see how it was printing. I narrowed the lines around his eyes and made the actual print darker. I still havent perfected it yet, so when I do I will show a print :)
