Weekends in the Lackey household are always different. Since Daddy Lackey travels for his job, it differs form the weekends he’s home and when he’s not. When he’s home, we usually go somewhere (like different civil war battle fields in the area, or to the lake to do a little fishing, sometimes we’ll go across state lines to Joplin or down south to another city and stay the night in a hotel with daddy’s hotel points and get a free room! All cheap or free things to do!).
Sometimes we will have baseball or softball games to go to. Those are fun, and something we never thought our 4 year old son, Caleb, would be able to do since he was born with cerebral palsy.
We love to watch movies in the Lackey house. But since our big screen TV (old and ghetto from the early 90’s lol) we usually watch them online on our computers (through netflix). When we have the money we might go and see one in the theaters (but because there’s 4 kids it can get pretty expensive just to get in let alone the snacks, so we dont do that often). That’s a fun day that the kids always get excited about!
No matter what kind of weekend we have, it usually revolves around the kids. Sometimes we’ll sit at home and play games like Uno, monopoly or yatzee. Sometimes we’ll do nothing but lay around and be lazy and play games on the computer. But always we go to church (when the ghetto van decides to work of course lol).
All in all, I can’t complain too much about my life. I’m blessed to have wonderful kids and a beautiful town to live in. (living in the country is amazing).
